Start with the budget blank
For giveaways and high-volume event runs, reach for our most cost-effective tee: the Port & Company Easy Cotton Tee (PC43). It’s a clean, lightweight cotton shirt that takes a print well and keeps your per-piece cost as low as it goes - exactly what you want when you’re ordering by the hundred. Need a few in long sleeve? There’s a long-sleeve version too. When the merch is meant to sell (not give away), step up to a retail blank - see the best blanks guide.
Pick the method for volume
For a big single-design run, screen printing is almost always the cheapest per piece - its setup spreads across the whole order, so the more you print, the less each shirt costs. If you need a handful of variants, small quantities, or full-color art, DTF handles those without a per-color setup. The screen print vs DTF guide covers the trade-off.
Order smart on quantities
Weight your order toward the middle sizes, keep the design simple and bold so it reads from across a room, and save your art to an account so a mid-event reorder or a follow-up run is a two-minute job. Screen printing starts at 25 pieces and embroidery at 12; most events are well past that.
